During the course of last night, I decided to get in some much needed alone time with my console. However, after around 30 minutes, I felt the need to switch off and watch a few trailers for next-gen titles instead. This brought to mind a rather interesting question: Are we growing tired of the current-gen consoles – The Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3?
Granted, each console has some killer games lined up to release this year… but I don’t feel that excited about these titles. Titles that gain tremendous amounts of hype seem to be flopping left, right and centre, which means that either we are all growing slightly bored, or developers are putting in a little less effort in order to focus on titles for the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Truth be told, I cannot wait to get my hands on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; however, this feeling seems to make me neglect my current-gen consoles. Maybe it is just me, I don’t know? But to be honest, how do developers top games like The Last of Us with the current platform? It is like we have already experienced the best, and we need to move onto the next.
While this rant is generally shorter than my previous rants, I will end it off with one question: Are you growing tired of the current-gen consoles?
