I can hear you already: “Oh no, more bait for a console war, why would you do this?” Well, the answer to that is: “Because it is on the list”. So because of that, we will be finding out which of our writers loves Sony’s PlayStation 3, who subscribes to Microsoft’s range of Xbox 360 consoles, who considers themselves a part of the PC “Master Race” and who is (gasp) a Nintendo fanboy.
I don’t really consider myself a fanboy and love both the PS3 and Xbox 360 but since I have gotten hold of my PS3, the 360 has kind of ended up in the backseat. This is mainly due to the fact that PSN offers free online play and in my opinion, has a better range of exclusive titles. I won’t fault Halo, Alan Wake and Gears of War though, those are awesome 360 exclusives.
I have always been fond of my Xbox 360; however, at the moment, my PlayStation 3 and I have been burning the midnight oil more often. But truth be told, I have actually been neglecting one of my favourite consoles… A console that is actually been neglected by developers as well, the Nintendo Wii U. Yip at the moment the Wii U is actually my favourite console; however, due to the lack of games I find myself shying away from it. I quite honestly enjoy the Wii U’s uniqueness and to be honest it is such an awesome console – I just wish it had a larger selection of titles.
There are certain games I feel suit consoles, but at the end of the day I usually choose PC. I started gaming on computers and while I do have a Playstation 3, my hands just naturally fall on WASD. PC is where I feel the most accurate and the most comfortable, even if I’m constantly spending money to keep it upgraded!
I have always considered myself a PlayStation fanboy, and justifiably so. Up until recently, when I acquired an Xbox 360, I had never owned anything other than a PC or PlayStation console. I had a PlayStation 1 from when I was 6 years old until I was about 12 – when I bought my PlayStation 2. It was quite strange for me when 8 months later I won a PlayStation 3, and I have never wanted to own a different set of consoles since, although I have enjoyed sampling the Xbox 360 exclusives.
So, now that ITF Gaming has proven to be PS3 dominant, with mentions of Wii U and PC and a dash of Xbox 360 here and there, what do you find to be your system of choice? Do you prefer your social-orientated Xbox 360 gaming? Are you a portable console fan, owning the PlayStation Vita or Nintendo DS/3DS? Or do you consider yourself a PC aficionado?
