Creative director and writer for the Uncharted series, Amy Hennig, has left Naughty Dog.
Hennig has been the creative force behind the Uncharted series since its first instalment, entitled Drake’s Fortune. She had also been with Naughty Dog for 10 years. Not much is known about what will happen with the Uncharted series but sources close to IGN have claimed that the creative leads for The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, will be heading up Uncharted from this point on. However, this is still a rumour so take it with a grain of salt.
Sony has confirmed Hennig’s departure from Naughty Dog in a statement posted on IGN:
“We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted”.
In addition to the Uncharted series, Amy Hennig has worked on both the Jak and Daxter and the Legacy of Kain series in the past. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what Hennig will be working on in the future.
