Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls is one of the most highly anticipated game releases of this year. Given the developer’s previous work on Heavy Rain, another strongly story driven title, and the star-complemented cast including Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe who did voice and character acting for the title.
Today, however, Quantic Dream have released the box art for their October-scheduled blockbuster; an image which is included below. It shows both cinematic influence and alludes to an emotionally charged title – two things which were already expected. Quantic Dream say they had trouble choosing the cover, as they wanted something which would convey what they were trying to achieve with the title and eventually decided to go with the side-view of Ellen Page’s character, Jodie – both for her relevance in the title’s narrative and for what the developer interpreted as an image capturing the emotional impact of Ellen’s performance as Jodie. They also felt the choice was a mature capturing of their character; setting it apart from most modern titles.
