rAge 2012 was filled with epic gadgets, games and many things that we could touch and feel. However, while venturing through the event, I decided to take a look at a few things that patrons were not allowed to touch, photograph or even attempt to place their forever shedding skin cells on. While the need to be slightly adventurous and devious was always at the back of my mind… I decided to have a hands on approach when it came to touching the untouchable, photographing weird moments and just doing the out of the ordinary.
First up was the life size model of the forever memorable hero, Batman! Placed next to Batman was a lovely sign that said please do not touch… I touched, which meant that a few hours later Batman had a nice barrier around him preventing folks from reaching over.
The no photography sign on the PlayStation stand was so tempting, I could just not resist taking a photo of it.
There were also various sports vehicles at the event, which also contained a nice little sign post that completely disallowed any fondling whatsoever. So I fondled anyway.
Even a few patrons at the event were unsafe from the devious finger that proceeded to touch whatever came its way.
For some awkward reason Harley Quinn seemed pretty keen on the idea of being touched… So I went ahead and well, touched! It was awesome!
Even Microsoft’s PR person, Graeme Selvan, was unaware of the protruding finger that sat comfortably behind his perfectly proportioned head.
Master Chief was next, and although aware of the current situation, he didn’t proceed to shove his elbow in my face.
The girls on the Kalahari stand felt the need to touch back; however, this did not go as well as expected as I was prodded and poked with a life sized needle for a while… Gotta admit that this was pretty interesting from my side.
While venturing through the event, I found myself being the victim of my own escapades as Ashleigh Venter decided to give me a taste of my own medicine.
Thanks to everyone who allowed me to touch them, and to those of you who had no idea I was even there, thanks to you too!
